Unit Converter – Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

Unit Converter (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension published by CVR Digital. It converts values between units of measurement and currencies. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.

Summary

The extension does not collect, store on our servers, sell or share any personal data. We have no servers that receive your data.

Text you select

When you choose “Convert” from the right-click menu or use the keyboard shortcut, the extension reads the text you selected on the current page to find a number and unit. This happens only on your computer. The text is never sent anywhere. The extension does not read pages unless you start a conversion.

Settings stored on your device

The extension saves your chosen units, their order, your interface language and the latest exchange rates in Chrome’s local storage on your device. This data never leaves your computer and is deleted when you remove the extension.

Exchange rates

To show currency conversions, the extension downloads a public list of exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) at most once every few hours. No personal data or selected text is included in this request. As with any website request, their server can see your IP address; see ExchangeRate-API’s terms.

No tracking

The extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. If you click the “Powered by CVR” link, the CVR Digital website opens in a new tab; that website has its own privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
